6. Your friend Jessica has been withdrawn lately. You all are friends from high school and frequently play video games together on Friday nights. She has missed game night for all the Fridays this last month. Due to pandemic, she was laid off from his job as a human resource agent at a local business. Her finances have taken a huge hit and recently she was not able to buy her 6-year-old son (who lives with her ex wife) the birthday gift she wanted. You call Jessica on the phone to check on her. Her tone sounds sad and at times she seems to be holding back tears. Jessica reports that she feels she is a horrible mother and can’t provide for her son. She indicates she would rather be dead then not be able to provide adequately for her son. She mentions that her dad left the family when she was 4 and would never want to “do that to a child”. I want to think of ideas together that we can increase your energy to at least try and go to school today
